MEMBERSHIP INFORMATION
Membership includes use of club facilities and offers the opportunity to participate in our club programs, and meet other outdoor enthusiasts.
Club membership fees help defer the cost of operational expenses related to the rental of the West River's Edge Chalet and storage facilities, and operational expenses associated with the grooming and track setting of ski trails.
Memberships are valid from July 1st to June 30th the following year.
***NEW*** Reduction in fees:
The COVID-19 crisis has affected the economy across the country significantly. There is a fair bit of uncertainty even into next fall and winter about whether ski and training programs will run as expected. In addition FSNSC has struggled to retain memberships as people will sign up in order to take ski lessons and then drop out of the club after a year or two of lessons. We would like to build a long-term membership base of avid skiers and outdoor enthusiasts from which we can build long term programs on. For all of these reasons we have decided to reduce our fees significantly for the 2020/21 season (July 1, 2020 to Jun. 30, 2021 is the current season).

Membership fees for every person drop to $25 per person ($20 of this fee goes directly to the cross-country ski governing bodies -> Cross Country Alberta and Nordiq Canada). This compares to last year’s fees of $72 per adult, $57 per student, $54 per child and $180 for a family of 4.
Every child or youth member (ie: 17 years or age or younger) is able to rent a full set of ski equipment for the entire season for FREE. Last year these ski rentals cost $25 per person. There is no requirement for the child to take lessons in order to get the skis.
|
For every adult member we have maintained the same cost as last year of $25 to rent a full set of (classic technique) skis for the entire season. The change for this year is that there is no requirement to take adult ski lessons to rent the skis.
All costs for ski lessons have been maintained the same as last year. Child lessons (11 lessons) are $50 if you register by Nov. 22 and then $75 after. Adult lessons are $20 (4 lessons) if you register by Nov. 22 and then $25 after. There are 2 separate adult sessions – the first one for classic skiing and the second session is for skate skiing. |
Finally, FSNSC is now covering all of the processing fees associated with using the Zone4.ca web based registration system. This is an additional saving of 3% that is charged on top of all fees.

For a family of 4 (2 adults and 2 children) with 2 children in lessons and 2 children renting skis, the costs go from $339.90 down to $200 which is a 40% reduction.
For a single adult who rents skis and takes one session of adult lessons, the costs go from $120.51 down to $72.10 which is also a 40% reduction.
