We are a not for profit organization - the business of the FSNSC is accomplished entirely by volunteers.
Consider donating some time to the club to make its efforts a success. Skiing experience is not required. Activities can be for the season or on a one-time basis, and include grooming the trail system, maintaining grooming equipment, teaching child, student, and adult ski lessons, coaching and supporting a racing team, planning & hosting club events, and conducting ski club business with a board of directors. We also need help with club promotion, website maintenance, fundraising and more!
Presently, FSNSC does not have mandatory volunteering or fundraising for members or lesson participants.
Complete the Volunteer Information Form, see the leader of your child's program or email SkiForLife.fsnsc@gmail.com for a detailed list of volunteer opportunities. Descriptions of some volunteer positions are as follows:
Youth, Jackrabbit, Bunnies & Adult Coaches & Helpers
New coaches are provided with the training required to become qualified in teaching cross country skiing.
Sunday Programs & Other Club Events
There are many opportunities to assist with the operation of our Sunday lessons and other club programs, which do not require volunteers to be "on-snow". Please consider selecting one of the many volunteer roles available.
Tracksetters
The Fort Saskatchewan Nordic Ski Club provides orientation to learn the proper techniques for using the equipment required for trail maintenance and grooming.
Fall Trail Maintenance
Trail clean-up and home site set-up are regular tasks required each fall in readiness for the ski season.
Facility Maintenance
The equipment storage garage and ski chalet both require regular attention to allow for a clean, safe, and efficient environment.
Grooming Equipment & Sled Maintenance
We need folks with the skill, time, and desire to execute the maintenance and repair of grooming equipment and skidoos.
Board Positions
There are opportunities for interested individuals to join the Club board of directors.
