Winter
January 19 - The trails have all been rolled at least once, and most have been done twice.  Still very little snow.  Tried to set a bit of track in Wetlands, Chabot, and on the sprint loop.  Not very good.  However, if you are up for skate skiing in the cold, some areas of trail are actually looking pretty good.

Very Good – 90-100% of the area has exceptional snow cover with the occasional minor local conditions that may impair skating or classic skiing (eg some grass or other debris in spots) with good formed classic track including firm poling track, and firm formed  ribbed pattern 90% of the time on the skate lanes

Good - 90-100 % of the area has ample snow cover; with a few icy rough conditions, that may impair formation of molded classic tracks , classic ski track in all sections. Can also include soft snow conditions (eg after lots of fresh snow) that may have a soft poling track with baskets breaking through in some areas. Skating skiing lanes may be medium hardness(in new snow conditions) with some ribbed pattern showing 50% or more .

Fair – 90-100% of the area has adequate snow cover with some icy/rough sections, pine needles, grass or bare patches, with some ribbed pattern on skating lanes. Or the skate lanes may be shallow or very soft if lots of fresh snow. May not have a classic track, if classic track it may be shallow or poor quality – very soft or no formed molded classic tracks in some sections.

Poor – 90-100% of the area is not recommended for skiing due to large bare patches and exposure obstacles or extremely icy conditions.
